5 signs that your heart is in serious danger

Ouadie RhabbouronMay 27, 2026

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide, and it’s vital that we pay attention to the signals our bodies are giving us. Here are five visible signs that may indicate that our hearts are not healthy. Take the time to learn about them and understand what they mean so that you can take the appropriate preventive measures.

1. Frank’s sign

One often overlooked but potentially telltale sign is a diagonal crease across the ears, also known as a “Frank’s sign.” This diagonal line running from top to bottom across the ear can indicate a blocked coronary artery.

Medical studies have shown a link between this fold and coronary artery problems. Paying attention to this sign can help prevent future heart problems.

However, it is important to know that not everyone who has this marking has an artery blockage. About 70 out of 100 people with this crease will develop a serious artery blockage. If you notice this crease before the age of forty, be extra careful.

3. Xanthelasma
