Six eggs, three actions, one final question. Nothing could be simpler on the surface. And yet, this little puzzle makes the vast majority of people who try it doubt, hesitate, and make mistakes. Why? Because it plays on our mental reflexes and our tendency to read too quickly. Before checking the answer, take a second… and ask yourself if your brain hasn’t already tricked you.

The puzzle that makes our brain malfunction

Here it is, as it circulates all over social media:
“I have 6 eggs. I broke 2. I fried 2. I ate 2. How many eggs do I have left?”

At first glance, many people spontaneously answer… zero. Others hesitate and say two. And yet, these answers are wrong. This riddle is a perfect example of those questions that seem obvious but actually require just a little extra analytical effort.
