2: Remove the box
Start by removing the detergent dispenser from your washing machine. Most dispensers can be removed by pressing the tab or simply pulling them out. If necessary, consult your washing machine manual for more detailed instructions. Once the dispenser has been removed, it will be easier to clean it thoroughly.
Step 3: Rinse and soak
Rinse the drawer with warm water to remove dirt. To remove stubborn stains and residue, soak the drawer for about 15-20 minutes in a solution of warm water and white vinegar. This combination helps dissolve caked-on dirt and makes scrubbing easier afterwards.
Step 4: Scrub away the residue
Once the drawer is well soaked, grab a soft toothbrush or an old toothbrush and start scrubbing. Pay extra attention to corners, crevices, and areas where cleaning product has accumulated over time. If the stains are stubborn, you can make a paste of baking soda and water for a more effective scrubbing. The mild scrubbing power of baking soda combined with its alkaline properties is an excellent way to remove stubborn residue and mold.
